Samuel Day Fuller

Fuller tombstoneSamuel Day Fuller was born on March 26, 1827, in Conecuh, Alabama, to Samuel and Eleanor.   At the time of his death he owned a plantation was located 9 miles south of Abbeville, Wilcox County.  He joined the Confederate Army as a Captain, Company E, 49th Georgia Infantry and he continued with this command until the end of the Civil War.  He married Sarah Jane Bowman Fuller on December 25, 1849. They had nine children in 13 years. He represented his county in the State Legislature.  He died on October 18, 1885, in Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of 58.  He is buried in Stubbs Cemetery, Abbeville, Wilcox County, Ga.
