Enlisted on 15 June 1862 in Company B of DeMorse's 29th Regiment, Texas Calvalry at Pilot Point, Denton County, Tesas. The 29th fought in a battle near Fort Gibson, OK; a battle near Honey Springs, OK; in the Camden Expedition, AR; a battle near Poison Sprint, AR; a battle near Camden, AR; a battle at Massards Prairie, near Fort Smith, AR; and a battle at Cabin Creek, Indian Territory. He was dismounted and assigned to infantry in February, 1865. On 19 May 1865 they went home.
